SWIMMING sensation Grant Hackett and his fiancee Candice Alley are preparing to take the plunge in April _ with the bride-to-be commissioning the Olympian of dress designers, Alex Perry, to create her gown.

While their big day is set to be an A-list affair, singer/songwriter Alley wants people to know her relationship with the aquatic hero is not all froth and bubbles - they have more in common than people might think.

“When he was 14 or 15 he was in a band, and he appreciates music, and when I was that age I was a swimmer for my school,'’ Alley said.

The pair will exchange vows after Hackett competes in the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne in March.
